This review is from: SOS Waterproof Mattress Protector For Queen Size, Each (Health and Beauty) The SOS mattress protector is somewhat uniquely designed with two independent layers, conferring the benefit of double or extended protection, but at the cost of significant thickness. The thickness seems to be the result of heavy vinyl used in each layer combined with covering/padding. Construction seems to be of high quality, with a better than typical skirt for holding it in place. The only problem noted so far is that the vinyl appears not to be a breathable variety, and so when laying in one position for a while one begins to sweat and the pad becomes damp. This doesn't seem to occur to a hugely bothersome degree, but does detract from the appeal of the protector.
