Great Deal, Watch out for Amazon Recommendations!!, August 8, 2009 By This review is from: Bi-Fold Futon Sofa Bed - Frame Only This item arrived very promptly, shipping was reasonable, given that it weighs 50 pounds, and it was extremely easy to assemble. One of the pieces did not have wood dowels in it, so my husband had to improvise a bit. If I had been assembling it on my own, I might have run into trouble. Despite this, the instructions were CLEAR and easy to follow--a nice change from most furniture assembly. The frame is very austere, but it was exactly what I was looking for to put in our spare bedroom/office. It's great because it doesn't have arms, so taller people will be able to sleep on it comfortably.
The biggest problem I had was the Amazon recommendation for a mattress. I ordered quickly and did not check that the recommended mattress was also queen size. It was a full. Stupid mistake, I know, but just make sure you quadruple check the mattress size so you don't have to return a giant futon mattress.

It is very easy to put together, it took my husband and I about an hour to put it together. The process went smoothly because we took the time to lay out all of the pieces and we read the instructions before starting.

I don't know how well it would hold up with kids (they flop around more LOL), but for a small adult it works well. Assembly was easy, even for one person--just make sure you've got plenty of space to lay it out and work in. Assembled, the top of the frame stands 10" from the floor--low, but not unbearably low. Adjusting the position is easy, until you put a mattress on it--mattresses are heavy! I was well pleased with the quality of the lumber, the clear instructions and the included hardware. Nice item!
