Great mattress protector, February 17, 2012 By This review is from: Protect-A-Bed Premium Mattress Protector We bought our first Protect-A-Bed Premium mattress pad about 10 years ago when we purchased a new mattress. We paid a lot for it, but it turned out to be a good investment. Over the years, it was washed & dried in the machines many times. Our mattress still looks brand new. Towards the end of its life, the waterproof backing started flaking off of the mattress pad. I eventually threw it out about a year ago, so we got 9 good years out of it. I cheaped-out & bought a different brand replacement at Walmart. Big mistake. It ripped the first time we put it on the bed. The Walmart mattress pad ripped in 2 more places right in the middle of the bed within 2 months. I lived with it for a few months until I found a Protect-A-Bed mattress pad on Ebay. What luck! It was half the price I paid at the mattress store 10 years ago. It came in the mail today & I was very pleased that they haven't changed it. It's very comfortable under the sheet.
